I met Barry when we both joined the real world after college. He convinced me to join the bowling team, which I had never done, and he patiently help me (and others on the team) improve. It was always amazing near the end of a bowling night, when he'd look at the scores in the eighth frame and start telling us what the averages were and what we'd need to bowl in the last frames to win.
We became good friends and he, Mike Regan, and I became roomates for two years in Gaithersburg, Maryland. I then moved to Sunnyvale, California - and when he moved out, we became roomates again.
In Sunnyvale, we played tennis a lot, and during all the time we played, I only beat him in one set - but his kindness and again, patience, in improving my play was so far beyond anyone could ever hope for in a friend.
Thank you for sharing!
